Upcoming Events Earth Day Event: Saturday April 17th 1-4pm In the spirit of Earth Day, Momentum is hosting Growing Gardens and giving away lots and lots of sunflower seeds.
 Earth Day to me is an annual reminder to take one more sustainable step in my life. I embark upon my Earth Day resolutions for future generations, for the polar bears, prairie dogs and all living beings. Last year we started raising chickens, this year it is bees. What amazes me is that when I am not looking, magic happens and I realize that my lifestyle changes have enriched the overall quality of my life. -Jenny Natapow, co-owner Earth Day is the perfect time for taking one more Sustainable Step in your life and Growing Gardens will be at Momentum to show us how…come learn about: container gardening, composting, gardening with children and bee keeping. Growing Gardens, a Boulder non-profit, is dedicated to enriching our community through environmentally sustainable gardening programs. Their plants, books, bee hives and homemade lip balm will be for sale at Momentum during the event. Momentum is donating 100% of the proceeds from the sale of Growing Gardens' products to this community centered nonprofit.
 As part of our Earth Day Event, on April 17th, Momentum will be giving away sunflower seeds to bring color, beauty and bees into your backyard. Simply enjoy the flowers or take a Sustainable Step and participate in the nationwide backyard bee count, in an effort to help our vanishing bee population. Reclaim Mother's Day Shopping Night
Honor mom by shopping for her on World Fair Trade Day Saturday, May 8th 5-7pm  In celebration of the world's mothers, Momentum is hosting an evening of "shopping for mom" ~ fair trade style. Stroll our aisles while sipping fair trade beverages and nibbling fair trade artisanal chocolates. Momentum is donating 10% of the day’s sales to Mother’s Acting Up, a Boulder non-profit dedicated to mobilizing mothers to act on behalf of the world’s children.

Updates  The Momentum staff spent International Women’s Day visiting, touring and purchasing handmade greeting cards at The Gathering Place (TGP). This Denver institution exists to support women and their children, who are experiencing homelessness or poverty
. TGP’s Card Project provides women with the means to earn an income, create community and engage in creative self-expression. Momentum has been carrying TGP’s cards since we opened because we believe in The Card Project’s grassroots approach to poverty alleviation and self sufficiency. Knowing that such an empowering project exists is inspiring, but touring this bright, uplifting and nurturing facility filled us all with hope. We came home with armloads of cards, motivated by how remarkably simple it is to help women in our community.
